Ceramics Workshop with Araceli Adams

I was invited to photograph an inspiring workshop hosted by ceramic artist Araceli Adams, of Casa Adams Fine Wares, in her Dulwich Hill studio in Sydney’s Inner West.

Araceli’s hand-painted porcelain plate designs are inspired by Australia’s rich biodiversity, featuring the wonder, curiosity and COLOUR of oceanic creatures — and her workshop group were walked through techniques to paint an Australian Tropical Rock Lobster while they learnt more about its habitat and incredible characteristics from a visiting marine ecologist.

As the climate changes and natural habitats are threatened, Araceli hopes her work as an artist elicits wonder and joy so we may be more inclined to value and preserve what we have.
