Do More Than Dine 2019

Not-for-profit social enterprise SCARF exists to train and mentor young people from a refugee or migrant background who face barriers to employment to find fulfilling work in the hospitality industry. The SCARF team put on an annual ‘Do More Than Dine event’ to raise much-needed funds to fuel their yearly programs for young people to receive training, mentoring and paid work experience.
Hosted by Matt Preston in the Arc One Gallery of Cumulus Inc and supported by a number of well-loved Australian brands and businesses, it was a pleasure to photograph the Do More Than Dine event for 2019 where SCARF raised $65k through the generosity of attendees and a money-can’t-buy auction.
SCARF host a number of dinners throughout the year where trainees get to experience serving real customers and your support goes directly back into the program. Hearing some of the graduates’ courageous stories and how SCARF has helped to transform their life in Australia is incredibly powerful, sobering, and makes for meaningful work.
